Organising Transport: My Guide for Beginners

If you are a novice when it comes to arranging the transportation of people and things from one place to another, don't panic! This blog will provide you with tons of useful tips and advice which will help you to make successful arrangements. I was inspired to start this blog by Bob, the owner of a local transportation company. When I needed to arrange for a group of people to fly into the country and then for them and their belongings to be transported from Perth to Sydney, Bob was able to help. I learnt so much from him that I just have to share it here.

Three considerations when booking refrigerated transport

Blog

When you need to book transport to carry your goods from one location to another, then there are a lot of things that you must consider before choosing your delivery company. If the items that you need to transport are temperature sensitive and require refrigerated transport, then there are even more considerations which you must factor into your deliberations. Here are the three key things that can help you select the right refrigerated transport company.

What's the size of your load?

Do you need to move one package, a loaded pallet, or several truckloads? Gauging the size of your load is going to be central to obtaining an accurate quote. A related concern is how your goods will be packaged for transport. Will you be using stackable pallets or will you need to take up a large amount of floor space within the truck? The majority of refrigerated transport companies will be able to supply a suitable vehicle whatever your needs may be, but the earlier you can inform them of your requirements, the more likely it is that they will be able to schedule the delivery at a time that suits you.

Frozen or chilled?

When you are booking refrigerated transport, you must be able to specify the temperature at which the delivery should be kept throughout the journey. You might want your goods kept chilled (-1 to 4 degrees) or you might need them to be in held below -25 degrees in a frozen condition all the time that they are on the road. Whatever your needs are, you should be able to inform the refrigerated transport company of them in advance and at the end of the journey, you should be able to demonstrate from their logs that a constant temperature has been maintained throughout the transport process.

Is tracking available?

You should always pick a refrigerated transport company that you believe to be reliable so that you can be confident that your delivery will arrive at the destination exactly when it is expected. However, it never hurts to have the extra peace of mind that comes with a full tracking service. Booking a tracked delivery allows you to plan ahead and ensure that once the delivery reaches the final destination, you can have people waiting to receive it so it gets where it needs to be without delay, something that can be especially important when a refrigerated transport is involved.
