Organising Transport: My Guide for Beginners

If you are a novice when it comes to arranging the transportation of people and things from one place to another, don't panic! This blog will provide you with tons of useful tips and advice which will help you to make successful arrangements. I was inspired to start this blog by Bob, the owner of a local transportation company. When I needed to arrange for a group of people to fly into the country and then for them and their belongings to be transported from Perth to Sydney, Bob was able to help. I learnt so much from him that I just have to share it here.

Pallet Distribution Companies: 3 Things to Look For

Blog

If you are searching for a pallet distribution company to meet your company's logistical and transportation needs, you will no doubt be looking for one which provides the best possible service. This article will go over three things you should look for in a pallet distribution company.

A large network

When it comes to pallet distribution, the size of the company's network is paramount. While it is difficult for one company to cover the whole of the country, the most successful and effective companies will work in partnership with others to strengthen and widen their distribution network. When looking at different companies, it can pay to ask about the size of their network. Ideally, the company should also be able to provide a map showing their coverage as this will help you to identify if the company is a good fit for your business needs.

Recycled pallets

Recycling pallets is a fantastic way of cutting down on the amount of waste produced and the amount of harm which occurs to the environment. Every years, trees are felled to make new pallets which are used to replace old, damaged ones. It is relatively easy to remove broken sections of wooden pallets so they can be replaced with fresh sections of wood, so it is worth checking that the distribution company does this where possible. A company which purchases new pallets to replace damaged ones is likely to have higher overheads, which could mean that you end up paying more for each pallet you send through their distribution network.

Advanced technology

Finally, it is worthwhile paying attention to the technology used by the pallet distribution company. Using GPS tracking, QR codes and modern databases can all speed up the rate at which pallets are distributed. Using technology such as this also helps to reduce the number of pallets which are misloaded, misdirected or lost in transit. While you may need to pay a little bit more to a company which has invested in the latest technology, you should think of this additional sum as an investment in your own company and its products. If a distribution company doesn't seem interested in technology, it is probably best to look elsewhere.
