Organising Transport: My Guide for Beginners

If you are a novice when it comes to arranging the transportation of people and things from one place to another, don't panic! This blog will provide you with tons of useful tips and advice which will help you to make successful arrangements. I was inspired to start this blog by Bob, the owner of a local transportation company. When I needed to arrange for a group of people to fly into the country and then for them and their belongings to be transported from Perth to Sydney, Bob was able to help. I learnt so much from him that I just have to share it here.

Ways to Keep Your Refrigerated Transport Clean

Blog

If you're using refrigerated transport, it's probably because you're transporting food or other perishable items. Because of this, you have a duty to keep your transport clean. Cleaning your transport requires a combination of correct loading techniques and routine maintenance.

Seal Everything Correctly

It's important to never take a slapdash approach to sealing the items you're transporting. Make sure you don't open items before loading them. Perform thorough checks on anything that you may have damaged. If there's a break in any of the packaging, make sure you reseal it so that it's leak-proof. Allowing food or beverages to drip into your transport could result in bacteria developing when you switch the coolers off. Additionally, you may accidentally promote mould growth.

Break Your Routine Down

How often you need to clean your refrigerated transport depends on how regularly you use it. When you do clean it, take a methodical approach that breaks the process down into several components.  For example, focus on the outside surfaces and external components, then the shelving and storage areas, and then the remainder of the unit. Do your best to avoid cross-contamination between areas. You can avoid spreading microorganisms from one component to the next by changing your cleaning cloths regularly.

Clean the Condenser Coils

As one of the most important components of your refrigerated vehicle, condenser coils can soon become contaminated by lint, dust, and dirt. Check your manufacturer's manual to see where your coils are located. If it's possible for you to access them, make sure you wipe them down at least once per month. Your manufacturer may require you to use a specialised cleaner to remain within your warranty. Always make sure there's no electricity flowing through the unit at the time of cleaning them.

Tackling Honeycombs and Vents

The honeycombs and air vents in your vehicle are there to deliver cold air. Keeping them clean means the air can flow smoothly, which then results in an even temperature throughout the vehicle. Doing this is also a good way to maintain efficiency. Depending on the refrigerated transport you're driving, you may need to remove the vents to clean them. Don't rely on a visual inspection alone. By cleaning them at least once per quarter, you'll remove hidden mould and dirt that are lingering there.

Your refrigerated transport requires regular attention in order to keep functioning properly. By maintaining a cleaning routine, you'll create high hygiene standards and keep the goods you're transporting safe.
